That in-car shows a lot more action than the sideline shot...
    Awesome video! Thanks!

Bathurst is one of the worlds great under recognized tracks. Great footage there.

But GEEZ! They are looking very fast down under. What, do they use the 2 Liter VW engine in Australia.

They use 1600cc, just like we do in FST here in the U.S. Unlike here the Aussie's have combined the old FV (1200) with the new.

    Rick,

As I understand, Bathurst is the big deal in OZ. The FV guys really love it. The footage is coming down "con-rod" straight (named after the most common part to fly out of the car whilst motoring by). The FV guys (both 1600 and 1200) are floating valves most of the way down the hill (con-rod). These car are pretty darn close to US FST other than fans and 15" wheels.

As Dave stated, CAMS (OZ version of SCCA) has blended (quite nicely i might add) FV 1200 and FV 1600 in the same race group.

If you like FV 1600 at Bathurst, here is a really great series of vids from Tim Hamilton at the 2008 race:

Pretty dicey stuff and lots of contact. What's one of those front running cars sell for?

    Mac,

Had to look up the exchange rate. Good time to sell (not buy) a car into Australia. The rate is 1:1. Looks like a top line car is in the $30k to $35k range. However, much like here the range of price and quality is wide.
