    Default Fuel System Advice Requested

    So, tonight I began to look at fitting the HPD in-tank fuel pump assembly. This led to some questions about how best to do it.

    Please have a look at the pictures and explanation in my blog:

    As I mention there, I am a little apprehensive about how to proceed, and would appreciate the sage advice of the rest of the FFit community before I make any irreversable modifications...

    So have a look and let me know what you think.

    Thanks,
    Sean

    P.S. I posted the same question over on the Honda FF Conversion forum too.

    Sean;

    You and I have the same fuel cell. There is very little room for the internal pump in this cell and the cells total capacity is not overly large anyway. That is why I chose to use an external pump and regulator instead of the HPD one.

    Having the pump(s) and regulator outside of the cell is very tempting. There are disadvantages (space, weight, added complexity), but it sure would be nice to have it all out where you can get to it (especially an adjustable pressure regulator). I almost went that route, but finding a place for the two pumps, small reservoir and return line talked me out of it, plus, I figured the guys at HPD were much smarter & more experienced than I, so their system should be as good or better than what I'd come up with.

    But, as I posted in the Yuku forum, I think your plan to enlarge the plate is probably fine, too.
