Oil Change in a Merlyn

Ran my first race this weekend.... First time to race the car and first time to race.... Poured rain all weekend at Hallett... I did however love running in the rain....
My question.....
changing oil, I plan on using the same oil as I use in my Spitfire, Vavoline VR1 Racing... What is the best way to change the oil in a Merlyn (69) and how much do I put back in...

Congrats on your first race. It only gets more addictive from here on.

Contact apexspeed member, Wes Allen. Wes has several Merlyns and knows them well, so he can provide advice that is particular to Merlyns.

The best thing you can do for yourself and your Kent is to get Jake LaMont's book "How to build and maintain Formula Ford race engines". Available through suppliers like Keith Averill or Pegasus. All maintenance is explained including a full rebuild. Well worth the investment.

If you engine is pro built, give him a call. He will likely have recommendations for the oil viscosity to use and how often to change, best filter to use.
