Any one interested in getting everyone together on Friday evening for some food and drink? Clark and I will be there with the new DSR and I would be happy to help out.

We'd be foolish not to jump on this offer. Mike's race track dinners are famous.
Mike, I'm guessing you may need to restrain a bit from your normal commitment level since you'll be busy wrenching.
I'd vote for yes and will help out in some way. Thanks for the offer. Do you have thoughts about what it will take? Let us know.

PS. I am really looking forward to seeing JLL take that car around Rd Atl.

We're going to go a little different this year: the party will not just be F 1000, but rather we will welcome all of our Open Wheel and SR brethren.
Anyone who has ever savored any of the Devins fare knows it's a gastronomical adventure not to be missed! What this guy can do to a Pork Loin, or a Cornish Hen is indescribeable, err what I meant is, oh never mind, just be sure to not miss this.
We want to get an idea of the number of racer's, crew, posse, wives, husbands, etc that will confirm, then we'll be able to figure out a cost. We'll have tickets to purchase at the track, and all you'll need to bring is a chair, and probably a jacket - it gets downright chilly at night (and first thing in the mornning!).
Mike is thinking Ribs, but I'm pushing for the Brined Cornish Hens from the first FB National Championship ARRC in 2007.
I'll have both of my Big Green Eggs cooking up some choice appetizers, and get this: Ana is making a huge pile of her Mom's secret recipe Empenadas, or "meat pies" for the local fellas who are "red of neck". Fresh outta the oven - Mmmmmmmmmm.
You'll be guaranteed to be floating on air like that cartoon dog, just smellin' what's cookin'...

Happy Birthday, Coop!
Back to the bidness at hand:
There are tentatively two of us from WI and we're happy to help out with whatever.
Do we have a volunteer for party location?
Think Sean O. can score some beer? Just don't go through that keg fiasco thing from '07
Maybe Jeremy Hill can bring some real beer from up nort'.

Does anyone have the schedule for the FB race at the upcoming AARC? I'm planning to attend to look things over and evaluate the various chassis's for my up-coming project (I hope). I'm trying to maximize the use of my time so if I knew when the FB race was going to take place I'd try and stay late enough to watch the action...need to be back home Sunday evening.
Any suggestions on where to stay or is it already too late for anywhere decent?

Yo Hasty, TONS of places to stay, ya might even want to check at the Chateau (Elan), one exit south of the track on 85; my bet is they have some choice deals going on. Further south on I-85 a few more miles puts you smack dab into a bunch of stuff. I'd probably stay away from the stuff closer in to the track such as Oakwood or Gainesville unless you don't mind slumming it.
Rd Atl website will have all the info you need.
See you there, GC
The FST group would love to join you. Right now I can account for 11 people. I'm sure ther will a few more. Let us know what we can bring.
Thanks

Butch, I do not know what is happening for beverages - so you may want to BYOB.
Besides that a donation to cover the cost of the food would be great.
We will certainly bring some midwest beer with us.

I'm looking forward to hangin' with FB clan on Friday night. Maybe some of that FB speed will rub off on us
We've got our "US Formula First" series season ending trophies that we wanted to pass out during the ARRC weekend and didn't have a real plan. Would you guys mind if we had a little trophy presentation? Or would that be in bad taste?
Bill Bonow
"Wait, which one is the gas pedal again?"
I'd enjoy seeing the FST awards given out on Friday night. Sounds like a good time!
Don't worry about the bad taste. There will be plenty of that provided by the FB guys (but you're welcome to bring your own).

Do not, I repeat, do not eat the grey hamburgers!

Also the party is open to all Formula and Sportsracer folks.

Best of luck to everyone!!! Wish we were there, but we'll be following the threads and news.
Good luck all

Good luck from me too - I'll be sulking around the paddock at some point!
Seen in the paddock Wednesday PM: JR Osborne with new Stohr bodywork (looks snazzy), Gary & Jason Slahor, Brandon Dixon & Wren, Coop, Anna, four Firmans, Mike Devins, Critter. I heard a Swift 016 may do the test day. The pro paddock is nice.

I want to wish the best to all F1000 drivers in the ARRC. It looks like a great race is lining up. It should be exciting. I hope that each and every driver has a safe race, and has lots of fun. There can be only one winner in the #1 position but in reality everyone is a winner. The drivers that have entered this race will be in the spotlight, and it is you that will help the class.
I wish I could be there personally with my Phoenix F1000. I will be listening to the live broadcasts.
Any quality photos will be appreciated for the F1000 owner/drivers website.
Good luck to all.

The pro paddock is great! Fully paved, flat, large, lighted & with plenty of electrical hookups. Sure hope the SCCA will continue to use it for all future events. Seem crazy for competitors to have to paddock in the weeds down in the back 40 when this area has been available for some time. (Thanks Butch!)
And yes, JR's new Stohr bodywork looks like a big improvement, would appear to create much less drag.
Sunny & in the upper 60's this weekend. Couldn't be better!

This event is too big to miss. With enough therapy i've recovered enough from the disappointment of not being able to enter. So, Mrs Frog and I are in the process of loading all her camera gear in her car. We are on our way to at least spectate on Saturday and shoot a few thousand pictures.
Any breaking news from the ARRC on today's practice?
Frog,
Take a couple of thousand pictures for me also. I wish I could be there but the work thing got in the way.
Good Luck to all.
This will certainly be a fantastic race to watch and another great example of what the Formula 1000 class has to offer.
I heard some times that filtered down from Foss, the top three times for the day which are pretty ammazing considering traffic.
Niki into the 21's (now that's flying in a FB)
Hill at a 23.3
JRO at a 24.8
I think that the track record is in the 1:21's and was set at last year's ARRC. If the weather holds I would expect this record to be reset on Saturday.
Hi gang,
Just a heads up. EFCN is at the ARRC, covering the third annual F1000 Championship race. In addition to qualifying and race reports on the main page of the website, notes from the paddock and trackside will be available throughout the weekend at http://www.eformulacarnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=2764

I will leave the details up to Al but here are the top 3 from Q1.
JR - 22.7
Niki - 23.4
Hill - 24.5
Thanks Al for the updates here and on your website........
You have lots of FB drivers that could not attend the ARRC watching, waiting and excited for the updates.
Keep up the great work for all racers.

Today could have gone better for us. Tore two corners off the car, both wings, and damaged various other things. We missed the second session and Brandon will be using a time from an outlap for his qualifying lap. Brandon was turning 22's yesterday while dodging FST's.
Right now things are looking good for making the race tomorrow. Mike B. fixed our rear crush structure and Don S. and Nick have been helping us put everything back together. It may take the epoxy a while to dry so we will button it up tomorrow, align it, and see how it goes.
does anybody remember web link where we can see live timing tomorrow?
Regards
Just listening to a interview recap. Good job to everyone, glad there will be coverage of the ARRC. Can anyone get anymore pictures and closeups of the new Stohr? Love to see what they changed and trying to figure out what it does. I like learning about new designs and such.

Hi gang,
The stage is set for quite a race on Sunday afternoon. The battle between Niki Coello, J.R. Osborne and Phil DeLaO is sure to be very exiting and with Jeremy Hill, Glenn Cooper and Brandon Dixon not far behind, I for one and looking forward to the third edition of the F1000 Championship race.
