    Default Barber Double Regional

There are currently 4 Atlantics registered for the Labor Day Double Regional at Barber Motorsports Park. Those of you who are not attending the Runoffs should seriously consider attending this event if you are able. Barber is a fantastic track, and last year this event was very well run. I don't think that you would regret the trip. I will be happy to provide gearing and set-up info to anyone who asks.

There are now 5 Atlantics registered, with at least one more likely to attend.

Weather forecast looks good. Clear and cooler than past summertime races at Barber.

    I see 4 FA's pre-registered. That's decent, but several other classes have low counts (1 DSR, 2 FE's, ...).

I see Rosella is entered, but you wont find her name in the FC group. Her entry has doors and a roof! I think she was sucked in by the car's heritage (Italian, like her's).

    Hi Russ,

I see that there are now 5 Atlantics registered.....not too bad for a Regional. There also appears to be a pretty good field of FC's, and I am pleased to see that you are planning to attend with the F1000. Do you still have the ambulance?

We may need to conduct an intervention for Rosella to lure her away from that "fendered" crowd..........

Yes, I'll be there in my poor man's RV (former ambulance). Last year I had some video to show to Phil and Rosella. I invited them into the ambulance to view it and Rosella wouldn't go inside! :-).

Speaking of video, remind me to show you my video of last year's Barber race. I almost punted you (by accident) in T1. Glad I didn't.

For anyone that still hasn't registered, it's not too late as there will not be a late fee for this event. I will be there even though my entry in FS was deleted from the entry list when I registered on-line for the test day separately at a later date!

I had hoped to get more pics. There were some very nice FA's at Barber, including some beautiful RT-4's. This is all I got - Sunday pole & race winner, Rick Ross.

Congratulations on the new lap record, Rick. 1:25.095.

    Hi Russ,

Thanks for sharing the nice pics of my DB4. I'm glad that you had such a good weekend.

Actually, I did not set a new FA track record on Sunday, as was indicated in the official results from Timing and Scoring. I set the official FA track record of 1:24.697 last year at this event, but for some reason the T&S system was unaware of this (fortunately I saved a copy of the results). I pointed this out to the T&S chief after the race, and she said that she would correct the records. Anyone in other classes who thinks they may have set a new Barber track record should perhaps look into this.
