Another beautiful weekend in Raceville.
At the VIR double SARRC it appears only A.J. Galiano, and Court Dallis were competing in CFC, but they made it exciting.
In Saturday's race Court showed AJ the way around the track (age and deceit). Not that AJ wasn't trying... he almost ran the wheels off his car, literally.
Sunday, AJ reversed the order (damn that youth and exerburance) and put together a very good qualifying and even better race.
Reportedly AJ was running in the 2:08s, after qualifying in the 2:11s. I don't know how that compares to the VIR times earlier this year.
Missing from action was Marshall Aiken. He was participating in One Lap of America in his tricked out SPO Mustang. Mike Eakin was walking in an ultra-marathon. LaTerra had planned on passing this one up even though he is now based out of Charlotte. And VIR is a long haul for all the guys from South Florida, so Sava, et. al. were no shows.
It is the first win for AJ and Court this year. As we move into the summer the SARRC points race is becoming interesting. It is beginning to appear that as many as 5 drivers will mathematically be competing for the Southeastern Invitational Championship (SIC) in September. That is great news for a class that was having a hard time getting 5 cars to run last season.
The next big meeting will probably be at Kershaw, SC, for Memorial Day with AJ, Marshall, Eakin, Court, and LaTerra in the field.
