    Default Swift 016a for FA

I see the Club has approved the Swift 016a for FA, and a few other classes....with currently approved engines..........much ado about nothing?

    Merry xmas,

Bill, as I read it, the chassis is approved but not the 2.3L engine, correct?

    Hi Jim,
That is my understanding also.......I'm not sure that anyone would undergo the expense and heartburn to install a 1600cc engine in the 016....especially in light of the inherent weight disadvantage......any thoughts ?

    Best regards,
    Bill

Is there a spec line in the FA rules for the 016 now? I don't recall seeing one...

The way I read it, that means it will be subject to standard FA dimension limits (which the stock 016 is too large for), in addition to needing a standard FA engine. I'm the first to acknowledge that I haven't been keeping real close tabs on it though, so I could certainly have missed something.

    Cheers,

Yeah, that's what I was reading:

    1. FA – Classify the Swift Atlantic 016 (various). The chassis has been homologated in ASR, CSR, FA, and FS and may be run with any approved engine.

But the fact that the chassis has been homologated has nothing to do with the legality of the rest of the car, which presumably must still meet FA rules, unless (like the Pro Mazda) there is a separate spec line for the 016, which I haven't seen. Again, adding the caveat that I may simply have missed it in the blizzard of email that I wade through every day...

    Cheers,
    Rennie
