It appears that others have requested Manual Cam Chain Tensioners as the CRB is now recommending to the BOD that they be allowed. See January Fastrack Item 2, Under Formula/Sports Racing.
I will again write a letter of support for this change as I lobbied for the allowance of these devices this past summer, but the idea was rejected back in the August Fastrack. The manual cam chain tensioner does not have any effect on the engine performance and is only designed to keep the cam chain stable, especially under high performance operations where we are under extreme throttle on and off conditions. They are not required, but George Dean recommends them and they are also very inexpensive.
