    For Trade Brake disc-1975 Van Dieman

    My rear brake discs are shot. I have an RF-75, but the origins and modifications over the years have murked up things. The OD is 9.100. The 4 bolt pattern is on a 3.406 BC(3 13/16 bolt circle) with 3/8 holes. The markings are as follows: 15E3 STANPART (this bit is a TAD foggy!!) 2L08304 MIN DISC THICKNESS .325 INS WITH .230 INS MIN THICKNESS OF PAD & BACK PLATE ASSY. The center thru hole is 2 5/8 DIA and the back offset is 3/4 inch. I have not been able to find replacements and I am running out of time for the new season. What are these. What small Britt car did these come from?? MG? Triumph???PLEASE HELP!!

    stanpart was the marking on many old triumph parts, ie spitfire. campbell motorsports, they advertise in the back of sports car , has located some odd disc for me in the past. and as suggested there is always simon at universal. who seems to know nearly everything that you will ever need to know.

    I have a standard 4x3.75" bolt pattern (triumph gt6) on my 75 Van Diemen. I'll double check when I feel like braving the cold garage. I'm guessing they are standard issue gt+6 or even spitfire part. I'll compare the rotors to the ones I have my 71 Spitfire.

    Mal from Australia might know of a source.

    My 1975 Titan used modified Triumph 2000 sedan rotors. I found several Triumph parts specialists in England by searching the WWW. Some of their web based catalogues were helpful and most returned e-mails. STANPART is Triumph.

    Default Triumph Brake Rotors

    The Stanpart script makes it a Triumph rotor for sure. You need to re-check the bolt circle diameter, Triumph used two common lug patterns. The TR3- TR6 used a 4 x 4" pattern and the TR7-8, Spitfire, GT6 and Hearld used a 4 x 3 3/4" pattern. Most early FF's used Spitfire uprights, stub axles, and brake componets. Although the rotors may fit they are not the best choice for racing with today's brake pad compounds. As suggested in the earlier replies try Campbell Motorsports for real racing rotors, it is well worth a couple of extra bucks for the higher quality parts. I have sold Truimph parts for years and I wouldn't use stock Spitfire rotors on my formula car.

    Default Triumph Spitfire Brake Rotor

    John,
    I need to clairify my prior post with reguards to the bolt circle diameter of the Spitfire brake rotor. As shown in the photo, the hub with the wheel studs is mounted to brake disc with four bolts. The wheel studs don't mount on the rotor directly, but are part of the hub and thats why there is difference between the bolt circle of the wheel and the bolt circle of the rotor. The Spitfire rotor O.D. is 9.100" in dia., I don't have my parts books with me on vacation so I can't verify the other measurments. If you need more info or want to buy those rotors there is a guy that has a shop not too far away from your house that I'm sure can help.     Default rear discs

    the discs are probably tirumph but ken at universal will know for sure
    my car didnt come with rear discs as it is a project car
    are you using inboard discs because if you are any brake shop shoud have something that can be drilled to fit next time I go to the shed I will talk to my mate to see what we are going to use

    Default PIcs of car

    I have some of the offending brake parts and one of the car. The body is home made in the 80's by a previous owner. The discs bolt to the 12 hole item 15 in the Spares G List in the Hewland Mark 8/9 manual (inboard). It uses 6 bolts. I am a machinist and will drill the holes if need be. I want to know what they are, so I can replace them, or buy vented racing equivalents. Next year the fronts get done.

    Default disc brakes

    your car looks nothing like mine
    that part number and sizes are triumph 2000 sedan with the diameter machined down
    I would go to a good brake shop and ask them what they have as old triumph bits are hard to find and I would rather spend a bit more on good brakes
