    Default Lola 342 master cylinders

I recently purchased a Lola T342. The original master cylinders were .62 (5/8) for both front and rear brakes. They had been replaced with Wilwood master cylinders. .75 (3/4) for the front brakes and .62 (5/8) for the rear. A friend suggested that I should switch them around, putting the .62 (5/8) for the front bakes and the .75(3/4) for the rear.
Any input on the pros and cons on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Your friend is correct, swap them. Your vehicle probably had a master cylinder replaced since it was new, and that's when a 5/8" bore Lockheed was installed on the rear. A larger size for the rear brakes was common.

That's how mine is set up. The 5/8 goes to the front.

    Default Lola master cylinders

    Kea and Mike:

Thanks for the input. I will make the switch.

    Scotty:

Brakes, what brakes. The master cylinders are there just to get me thru tech.

    Default Listen to your friends

The advice you have received so far is sound . However , brake systems are not ALL about the master cylinders .
Before you switch stuff around make sure whoever put the small bore master on rear did not make other modifications as well . Like larger calipers on front ( typicaly LD20s) .
The Hydraulic theory applied here is correct but will work for you only if the calipers are the same size front and rear and the rotors are all the same diameter .
Make sure before you switch .
If you have questions call me ...You know the number .

    Regards , A Friend .
