but right now we are primarily racing the NE area, as far south as Summit Point WV. A nice drive east would do ya good

    Default 4th gear for thompson

What would a 9:31 thompson 4th gear be? If I go I do not want to run around in 2nd.

    Hi,
Are you running a non-club class?

    Joe,

if you are running a FF SCCA car class, you can run whatever gears you want. if you are running a CF RCCA class then you have to abide by the club gears for the 9:31 R&P. Rule book is on the website and accessible for your reference at http://www.frcca.com/modules.php?nam...download&cid=3 just click on the rule book and print what you need.

those of us running club gears do generally run around in 2nd.

    Hope that helps....

    Default Thompson

I just happen to like the FRCCA. Thompson is close to my house. I'd like to give my car a run after cooking the engine. So I am going to try to get there.

I'll look at the gear chart for FRCCA. If I don't have them all, where ever AJ puts me is fine. I am not a good driver, so I expect to just get out there and have fun and be safe. Looking more for time than the trophy.

When we raced at Flemington we ran a range of gears, 2nd-4th, that were 10mph apart in top speed. We used times from similar "HP-to-weight ratio" cars that ran there to figure out what speed range to gear for.
