    Default RT-41 Intake

My new buggy has an air filter in the foward air box and a "sock" in the snorkel from the foward air box to the air horns. Is this sock a required piece? The snorkel doesn't fit very well with the extra material, so I didn't know if it was original spec. Is there a performance consideration with double filtering the air, or will the motor get all the air it needs with both?

Thanks to everyone for being so helpful. I haven't even driven the thing yet and it is quite a handful.

All we have ever used is the 'sock in the snorkle'. Some filtration seems prudent, but dual systems strikes me as not needed.

My engine builder says that he sees valve seat and cylinder wall wear when the foam filters are used. He will only let us use a K&N that is fully sealed?
