Your invited to three days of fantastic racing at California Speedway. The Golden State Classic presented by Hardison / Downey Construction promises to be the ultimate race experience. We will be running the long road course configuration with no chicane and a normal points event weekend. This public invited event will benefit City of Hope Medical Center.
VARA PIT CONTEST, presented by Sabina Precision Preparation.
This year the theme is “Beach Party at the Banks of Fontana”. Get in the VARA spirit; decorate your pit and crew in a beach party theme. You will be judged in part on the following: theme, originality, costumes, and incorporated racecar into theme, lighting, food, team uniforms and fun factor! Join in the fun!
EVENING WITH HANS
Friday night will be the first of many driver educational programs for the members of VARA. Our first evening session will be a special presentation in the drivers lounge with Dr. Hubbard, co-founder of the HANS device. This will be an informative 2-hour session; reviewing the importance of wearing a head and neck restraint system, proper fitting, questions and answer session. Anyone ordering a HANS device prior to the event will be fitted by their experts at the track. The staff from HANS will be trackside throughout the race weekend to help with fitting and to answer additional questions. Please check our website at www.vararacing.com for additional information.
RACE ENTRY INFORMATION
The entry fee for three days at the Speedway is $295.00 for current VARA members, and for non-members is $345.00. Friday will be a test and tune day, no timing and scoring. Entries received after July 16th will be required to pay a $35.00 late fee. You will receive 2 gate passes with your entry. Additional passes are available for $10.00 each.
NEW AND UNLICENSED DRIVERS
Unlicensed drivers and drivers running for the first time with VARA must include an additional $50.00 fee for the ground school. Rookies will additionally be required to be there up for the Test and Tune day on Friday. Due to the anticipated large turn out at this event we will not have the normal rookie sessions available on Saturday. The Ground School will be held at the track on Friday July 30th at 6:30 PM. Further details regarding the school and test and tune day will be mailed in your acceptance package.

VARA requires each participant to have a physical exam every two years. If you do not have a current medical please contact the VARA office and a form will be sent to you. Medical cards from other approved racing organizations are acceptable. All racecars must have a logbook and meet VARA eligibility requirements.
GARAGES
VARA has secured a limited number of shared garage spaces. These spaces will be available on a first come first serve basis. Be sure to mark you entry form and get it in early if you desire a garage. The fee is $100 per car good for the three days. You will be notified in your acceptance package if you are one of the lucky ones to secure a garage space.
RACE HEADQUARTERS AND LODGING
Race headquarters is at the AmeriHost Inn and Suites. Make your reservations early and be sure to ask for the VARA rate, which are $79 single/double and $99 whirlpool suites. (800) 434-5800 or (909) 463-5900.
TIMING AND SCORING
If you would like to be included in the timing and scoring during the race weekend, you must use a transponder. If you do not own one, you may rent one. Please indicate the rental on your entry form. The fee to rent a transponder is $40.00 with a $300 security deposit required at registration. If you would like to purchase one, please call AMB directly at (678) 816-4000
SUITES AVAILABLE AT THE SPEEDWAY
VARA is offering suites for rent on the front straightaway. These suites seat approx. 25 people and are air-conditioned. They have a bar area as well. You will also have access to the rooftop viewing deck above the suite. It also includes 25 VIP Passes and 12 VIP parking passes. The price is $1000.00 for the weekend and includes $250 toward catering fees. This is a great opportunity for a company to treat their employees or get together with some friends for an extra special weekend at the Speedway. These suites rent for 10 times the price for the pro races. Catering is available for further information please contact the VARA office at 800 280-8272.
