    Hi All:

Time for another question from the simple. What is the weight difference between a steel pan and an aluminum one, on a dry sump 1600 Kent from a Crossle 32 (ie not a swift or the like)?

Depends if the aluminum pan is cast or fabricated. I went from a 'standard' steel fabricated pan to an A.R.E. cast aluminum, and the ARE pan was a lot heavier, maybe a couple pounds heavier. It didn't matter because I went to an aluminum head at the same time and needed to make weight. Also if you have leak problems with fabricated pans, cast is the way to go.
