Hi guys - I'm looking to put something a little more comfortable in my dads Merlyn and I wanted to get an idea of what has been done. He currently has a black/plastic type seat....what can I do?

    Cheers

For safety and comfort, take out the original seat and get a bead seat kit. You can also cover it with black cloth using a 3M adhesive spray.

Cover that bead seat with a thin coat of RhinoLiner. It will last a heck of a lot longer than other coverings, provide some mechanical integrity so you don't have to chase those little beads all over the car, and you can just wipe the gunk off.

    Rick,
How comfortable is that? The Line-X lining in my truck doesn't seem real comfortable to lie in!

I've got something similar covering the foam
seat in my car (another rubber/plastic covering),
and its very comfortable. If the seat fits you
well, you won't notice the seat covering through
your suit. At least, that's been my experience.
It sure is easy to keep clean, too.
