Pro Mazda wheels have not changed sizes
If you can reach the magnets, give them a wipe. If not I wouldn't worry unless there is something that looks important on it. There will always be a bit of fine material on them.
The stack slides on...
Looks good to me.
Slide the inner bearing race off of the lower shaft and put it in the bearing in the rear cover before installing the cover. It will make it easier to get the cover to slide on
Isn't the fan setup a kit from Star? Call them and ask
Go thru the Resources on starracecars.com
Lots of helpful info on there
Oil temp is critical.
Too cold and it will go into limp mode which sounds like what you have experienced. I believe that anything below 160* will trigger the limp mode.
You are going to want to...
Correct, just loosen the rear cover. No gasket, there is an o-ring type seal
On the engine oil, the distance from the top of the oil tower to the proper oil level depends on if you have an early or late oil tower. They are different heights. I would have to go digging thru my...
There is no drain plug. To drain the fluid you loosen the rear cover.
There is a little tray at the rear in the center but I wouldn’t call it a service port
Possibly a bad ground for the hard start or just the low voltage.
Oil temp too low can send the engine into limp mode
Pump the fuel out to measure. That way you don't have to worry about the fuel tower and surge tank. It also tells you how much you can actually pump out (this may or may not be all of the fuel in the...
I assure you that it is far more than 12-15 gallons for the Pro Mazda
From memory, I think the most I ever managed to pack in was just slightly shy of 19 gallons. (Not enough to go 100 miles at full throttle around The Milwaukee Mile)
I think it depends on which filter your car has. The conical one is for sure still available from K&N but I don't think that they still make the flat one. I don't have the part number but the conical...
Static toe out in the rear and the rear bump toeing out are two completely separte things
This! It's way cheaper than an engine
It will depend on what tires you are using and what generation of rockers are on the car
As stated in the other thread, the system we use is from Rini Technologies
Definitely do NOT drill a hole in the chassis. It would have to route through an existing hole. Ice pack based cool shirts are by far the most practical
I can't think of the system we use in our...
Cool shirt ice packs is probably the most practical but it would be possible to put a small cooler in fromt of the RT side rad with some creative plumbing or if money is no object there are setups...
1/2. Grouping is up to the Regions as long as it meets GCR guidelines and I seriously doubt that there will be enough cars to warrant a seperate group so they will run within current groups
3. Yes...
Read the rules very carefully and act accordingly
Lee is out of the gearbox business
Definitely not fuel related
Pull the lower hose off the radiator to drain then add anti-freeze for storage
Stick with the stock muffler. It fits and does the job. They occasionally have the problem yours does but it's relatively rare. As Mikey stated the packing does get blown out
The one in your picture is the original style wing. The newer style has a smaller flap and no foot on the end plate and is composite
Change the oil and clean the filter after every weekend
It should be fine but 98 is the preferred fuel. Just stay away from leaded fuel if at all possible, that includes avgas 100LL. It will foul any lamda sensor and will shorten the plug life
As is stated in the article, the fire was caused by a short circuit in the chargers and that then consumed everything. The Bikes did not start the fire
As a point of reference, there have been 93 Formula E races to date and countless miles of testing and there have been zero RESS fires. There were also zero RESS fires in the Jaguar e-Pace series...
Thanks for the forum.
As an EVAC member I can say that our biggest priority is safety and we are doing our best to create rules that keep that in mind. The overarching document that will guide all...
I use a male Staubli dry break in the unused port of my regulator. I use it to pump out my fuel after each session. Quick and easy. You need one to get a log book for sure. I have been fuel tested at...
The biggest limiting factor is the transverse powertrain. Converting to anything else will mean a complete re-work of the back of the car. EXTREMELY expensive for what will still be an overweight car...
Yes that sounds correct
Like I said, I am pretty sure that there is only one . Something, something 32X sticks in my head for the part number but that could be completely wrong. I will look but it will probably be sometime...
To the best of my recollection there is only one starter that was approved for when they were a spec car. It is a Bosch unit and I think that they were available new and rebuilt. The new ones were...
In person visits are far better than mailing resumes. It's much better if you talk to someone even if it's just the receptionist, names to faces type of thing
Talk to all of the RTI teams and Indycar teams.
The worst they can say is no and a lot of them are always looking for help
All the same.
I would have to dig thru my notes to find the number.
Pretty sure that it is Moses Smith
Basically a tube frame Sports 2000 with a modern motor but a FAR from modern gearbox
There are no Sports 2000's that are in "as they left the factory" condition but it would be good to see a group of S2's running on the West Coast
If you are connected to the wrong terminal the engine most likely will not shut off with the switch
First thing to check, make sure the belts are tight. They can seem tight enough and not be and they WILL slip. Beyond that, check the output at the alternator itself, I have had broken wires cause...
Like others have said, tired apex seals will make for difficult starting as they are not providing the proper sealing to generate compression.
ALWAYS use a jumper battery
Carry an entire master switch assembly in your spares. They do fail.
The holes in the roll hoop cover are for a tow bar/strap. There really isn't a lot of extra room there to locate a beacon receiver. Stick with the shock cover location.
