A guy I know built a goblin. Looks pretty easy, all the hard stuff is done for you. Mostly you just do assembly and fitting.

Why would you not have one? Even in go karts I always had a thermostat. It's a cheap sensor and no thermostat just seems like asking for trouble, potentially very expensive trouble. :(
Thirded. Come down to Spokane and join me in pinto rf99 gang.
Heck no! I much prefer to lie to myself about that one. :p
What about cutting stuff like VP110 with clear/ethanol-free gas from a pump?
I called them top hat bushings too. Brad knew what I meant. These are the sizes used on my car.

Whaddayamean? Where else are you going to get helpers in the garage and the drivers for your race team's karting operation?
Like others said, it's where the people are. There are some extremely fast and talented FC drivers in my area. That gives me a challenge, people to look up to, and a lot of room to grow without...
Zetec or MZR-powered Van Diemen FCs are within your budget (barely). No need to worry about parts availability, there are hundreds of them out there and even though the VD marque itself is dead the...
Interesting video. I was wondering if we were getting to the point where carbon tub racecars cost about the same as steel tube frame to produce new.
It's a bit expensive and I dunno what you'd have to do to get it homologated for a racing class (or make it competitive in that class) but the Palatov D4 fits your description pretty well. You're...
What does a good lap time for an FC at ORP look like?
I wish, I'll just be in the novice race. Hopefully there will be enough other miatas or slow pro3s there for a battle but it won't be like the real spec miata race.
I'll be there. In a spec miata though...
Holy heck, too bad you're far away from the Northwest.
I agree, but that's what he says he wants lol. Hopefully the addiction and desire for more will kick in and he'll start taking it to the local club races and getting some wheel-to-wheel action with...
What about a Stohr P1 instead? If you just want the fastest and sexiest club racecar money can buy the P1s have the F1000s beat. Those massive low rear wings incite a tingling in my nether regions....
That's a good idea. I often bring a friend along to kart races for a second pair of hands in the pits then let them have a go after the racing is done. Even at road races we do a "buddy drive"...
Honda is still producing brand new 1999 CR125 engines just for go kart racing. Not crate engines, you gotta assemble it yourself, but there's no shortage of parts even 16 years later. You can get...
Perhaps that estimated 2016 season cost is meant to include buying the car.
Hahaha oh wow, when I said "lots of drama in racing as usual" I really had no idea.:tombstone:
Ah I see, I did not look at the rest of the posts made by the profile. Lots of drama in racing as usual.
That's a very disappointing list. Lets hope Mygale has worked out the issues discovered in Australia. It would be a real shame if a promising new series died before it even got started just because...
I'd love to see the return of can-am as much as anybody but for a bottom level race car having good close competition and lots of people to race against is much more important than raw speed. Can't...
A skip barber instructor told me he once had an 11yo do their class.
But where should people go instead? F1 is just as terrible if not worse. NASCAR's popularity is declining as well. Is there a "road to WEC?" The Mazda Road to Indy ladder is at least...
For what it's worth, the speed at which I learned accelerated rapidly as soon as I started racing in a giant field of equalized vehicles. I gained more driving knowledge in a couple months of racing...
Try during the winter season when there aren't any big points series going on, someone will definitely want to give it a go then.
What would it take to run a street race? Sometimes it can be difficult to get people to come to the race track but you could also try taking the race track to the people. I'm sure it would cost a...
IKF races on the big road tracks too.
Another way to do things would be to race at circuits that have both a road track and a sprint track which is not uncommon, or set up a temporary sprint...
Whoah, any hint as to which one? We're engaging in gossip anyway, there's no reason to just post half of a rumor!
I definitely understand what the car manufacturers will get out of competing for a big new contract that will mean selling a lot of new cars and locking in a lot of new parts customers but what would...
Sure that probably describes a lot of people but I don't see how preventing them from even the possibility of running in the other series makes any difference. They're going to do their own thing...
I don't understand, why would anyone want to stop cross-series racing? All that does is keep the fields small and make everyone less money. What possible benefit could there be in preventing people...
Damn, you guys sure are jaded about the way SCCA operates. Surely they'll do the only thing that makes any sense and choose the same Mygale car so all the newly purchased cars can be run in multiple...
I think you underestimate the kids in kart racing. They seem to know a hell of a lot more about their karts than I do. I'm just a software guy who didn't get to grow up around all this stuff and am...
