There is a Tyrell (004 I think?) that runs in SOVREN and when it goes by on the straight, it's exhaust is the most evil and loud harmonic you've ever heard. Very impressive sound!

6x14 or even 6x12 open will work, but it needs to be a low trailer, or have long ramps - ground clearance is just less than 2". Take the nose off, makes it easier.
In the AIM (that is shown in that video) gear is computed. You set it up in the AIM system by inputing the gear ratios. Not sure how it works with your system.
My AIM in my FM works - most of the...
Moses is the best, glad you got it figured out, sounds normal now.
The tube in the middle of the Venturi is the main jet outlet - where the primary fuel comes out. Here's a good reference to...
Post a photo of what you are calling a secondary Venturi. When the float sticks, fuel runs out of the bowl vent, left side of the carb, above the venturis.
‘Sounds like a stuck or sunk float if fuel is dripping out when fuel pump is on. Easy to check, pull the top off the carb, weigh the float or replace it. It’s also possible to cock the float in...
Regarding engine oil, I use Idimetsu 30wt, also Idimetsu pre-mix oil, 6 oz.to a 5 gal jug of pump, premium. I don’t remove the oil cooler lines when changing oil.
Moses Smith at MSR in Texas is...
Yes, I think it’s only firing on one rotor. Maybe a clogged passage in the carb, or ignition. When I rebuild my carbs, I disassemble them completely and boil the housing in a big pan full of water...
A vacuum cleaner. :ha:
I had a similar issue on my FM, after much troubleshooting, discovered the vent lines from the top of the radiators were plugged up with crap where they tee’d into the return header. That caused an...
I googled it - hard to find weights on the FSAE cars, but the Formula E cars weigh 1900 with driver and battery. Interestingly they are introducing a quick charge pit stop:
"On-the-go battery...
How much would an electric formula car weigh with battery, motor, controller, etc.? More than a normal ICE formula car? For instance, a car the size of an FF. Would it be the same - a bit more, or...
Going to need some infrastructure, hard to find an RV hookup in the paddock, much less a row of 20 or 30 superchargers to fast charge between sessions.
I'd prefer that infrastructure money be...
Well, we do check the oil and fill it up with gas. Sometimes even check the tire pressures :)
I remember when I first realized I had an alternator, so I didn't have to charge the battery (like I...
I’ve been racing my FM for two seasons, this is my third, came from FV. IMO, the car is fast, easy to drive, very forgiving, reliable with regular maintenance and the engine and gearbox go a long...
10 is for Rain - we use it a lot up here in the Northwest. If you’re lined up on the grid and your friends are all on slicks, flip that switch to start the rain coming down and have some fun in...
There are 8 FM's registered for the Polar Prix Majors next weekend (and four PFM's) at MSR in Cresson, TX. That sounds like a perfect fit for your current stable, Mel - maybe it's time to move to...
Got it, and Happy New Year to you as well!!
Mel, you got me thinking, and I found this while reviewing the latest rules for FX:
9.1.1. Formula X (FX) SpecificationsGCR - 289
K. All cars competing in Majors Races and the Runoffs must...
Paul's has disc brakes
Has Jamieson never sold his? Hasn't raced in some time now?
I agree, my car pushed badly when I was on Hoosier rains (but not on regular slicks) and some added toe-out while on the rains did the trick. I recall I ran the rear tire pressure up a bit, but don't...
i normally operate solo, no crew, sometimes my wife comes out or a friend helps me climb in, but best solution I found is to use a bungee cord to suspend my helmet over the cockpit. I can buckle in,...
Brian McCarthy told me that the rubber bushing provides a soft landing for the droop limit when you hit it, provides some “leniency” for the suspension change when it reaches that limit, much...
Alan Varacins has a description and price sheet he will send you upon request. I sent a deposit and because my season doesn’t start until spring, I’ll see a complete set in January. Some guys’...
Looking at the November GCR, I don't see that they've added that paragraph (9.1.1.4.D) yet. I noticed that they have added the spec tire to the GCR, but not disc brakes - do we expect to see...
Does this installation require changing master cylinder bore size? Or will the existing sizes work OK?
The round brass sphere float is made by Mike Palermo. I have one, works fine, but a bit heavy. Mine sunk last year when the solder joint the two halves cracked, but I had a spare. I so,Derek it back...
Would like to hang a Rotec 110 on the front of the Wittman Buttercup/Tailwind I’m building. Perfect power and weight imo.
Yes, please.
Yeah, just everything - and it helps to have large pass through bays to augment trailer storage ;)

That is exactly how it is suppose to be, tang not attached. Float should weigh 9 grams with washer glued on.
