The Mountain Lion Bros. are top-class, 2x of the best guys I’ve met in racing.
Steve - and anyone else not familiar with EIS foam seating - apart from also being a 2-part pourable material this stuff is vastly different to the relatively cheap marine foam we used to use; EIS...
This says to me that you have no excuse not to throw the fibreglass seat in the trash... seriously not trying to give you a hard time but you are in possession of a serious race car that requires a...
My very good friend, Robert Burgess, is president of Radical Canada; I've spent some time around that operation and have yet to see a Radical of any sort with:
a) anything but factory fibreglass...
Great post Steve. As discussed previously in this thread the EIS foam (not 'rigid') seating system is also very worthy of consideration, not least it is multi-impact, not one-impact like a bead seat,...
Maybe look into the Spec Racer Ford seat by Butler, may work in this application? Full-containment head and shoulder option available too, there's a pic of the SRF head surround in the link below. A...
Absolutely the BSCI foam. The tub is open but if it was my Radical I would figure out a way to overcome that problem, totally worth the hassle, IMO.
The roll bar padding (as supplied by Radical)...
You really should go through the trouble of pouring a foam seat, or bead, though it would likely require a little more work, relative to a formula car, to 'contain' it within the Radical tub. I try...
G6 has 15x entered, as of now... looks like FE is dead in the Northeast? There's been some class defectors to SRF3
1x FB entered today
Building excitement leading up to a triumphant F2000 return in 2017!
:ha:
I know you know, I wasn't the one trying to school you on the FB class... I'm entered, FC of course, along with fellow F2000 alumnus Monteleone and the Tollefsens; it will be good to see you again...
FB Mike...
Backing out the variables that skew relative performance - driver, tires, prep etc - all these being equal FC is quicker, no question.
SM and SRF quickly summarized.
True - maybe if there was anything good going on over in the FC forum this kind of thing wouldn't happen?
Good (great?) value, robust, pig ugly
Buy an FC
5 large for a Toleman-Hart that was Senna's coming-out party car is placing quite a premium on an unsuccessful race car because of his relationship to it.
(I was a Mansell fan, wouldn't pay 5 mil...
... or Steve's living room.
I don't disagree with the main point of your post but this car - at the quoted power/weight - will not be faster than FC/F2000; power is a little in excess of a good, blueprinted Zetec (or probably...
Totally deserving of a full Nielsen, way better than IndyCar.
311% roi!!!

An ex-F1 driver thinks F4 is the way to go, can't possibly be wrong, he won F1 races for chrissakes!... let's go all in!
Blow up the F2000 Championship series so F2000 Canada can thrive like in...
Don't blame the equipment, LD200 is a fine box.
ty for the reply... point concerning manufacturer understood and the reason I carefully said the SS AM-5/Veetech/Varicins *combo* is an ass-kicker.
The Speed Sport AM-5/Veetech engine/Varicins combo is quite an ass-kicker... why is (was) there only 1 SS chassis in the RO field?... Proprietary to Varicins and not for sale?... just a question from...
Threatening to beat the deceased equine… listening to the live feed of the St. Petersburg USF2000 season-opener, car into the wall at approximately 1/2 distance and stopped in a compromised...
True Steve, and I was being pretty glib with my comments, but I think points, track time, preceding FCYs (as we saw here) and how they might affect both of those factors are relegated down the order...
Greg, you know what I mean, don't take what I said too literally... said RA officials need to figure out why the test day boss can make critical decisions (more) rapidly and they - apparently pretty...
So make the test day *steward*, or whatever they are called, the race day chief steward; if that person can make an expeditious call that bring's the track under control when it is clearly needed...
… when a car is stopped on the inside exit of 5, I guess… it took about 1 min 10 from when that car came to a stop until we see FCY in Mayer's onboard but why would the T1 deal need a similar...
T1 incident(s) should have brought out a FCY, before the late hit. If that didn't seem like a situation where the track needed to be brought under control then what is?
Southern colloquialism?
Why would anyone who is sitting in a prone position, facing away from oncoming cars, unbuckle and attempt to get out before getting a signal from a marshal that the track is under control? Getting in...
I'm illustrating a point to vouch for the man's good character and encouraging you to use common sense… you can take the good advice of an honest ApexSpeeder who has, along with many others on...
Brad's had my Visa on file for 5 years... he's about the last guy you need to worry about and has reliably and honestly provided support and trackside service to pro f2000/1600 racing for many years....
yeah, people say some crazy, no-empirical-evidence-to-support-them things in this forum... maybe there is confusion between the 2-part pourable foam used in EIS seating and the 2-part marine stuff...
Why?
Nick, use the forum search function near the top of the page, search EIS seating for related threads... you want to go with EIS (pourable SFI 45.2 foam); it's all the rage and rightfully so, makes a...
Nice piece Dustin.
Technical inspection would impinge upon, or at the very least delay, the SVRA tech inspector's margarita-time... In all seriousness though, I ran a Trans-Am Grp 10 car in several HSR/SVRA events in...
The point is, IMO, there is definite cause here for speculation concerning legality and NOTHING is quite so unsportsmanlike as cheating, in any of it's various forms.
Henley's great?...very...
Hey Nick, there's this wonderful development in internet search engines called Google... http://www.galmerinc.com/index.htm
Galmer, as in Rick GALles/Alan MERtens of early-90s CART fame... there's...
I'll throw another reputable name out there, Thomas C. Sunday Transport; enclosed and I have used them.
Ummm...yeah. That's pretty clear. No one in their right mind would defend #22 for his actions. Did anyone in this cluster of a race not pass under yellow? That, and some other issues, are what...
.
The onboard car (Simpson) PUY too with, apparently, no penalty.
Aside from driving the car very well and the great video, how is that fair to the 22 car or anyone else that got nailed for PUY?
Those two were racing waaay too hard under FCY near the end... the blamer repasses the blamee, totally crossed-up on the curbing no less, within clear sight of a flag station displaying caution and...
So up the stakes and pack the shipping boxes with sombreros and the yayo, then come talk to me... a proven commercial enterprise that will pave the way to a European F3 season, several keys at a time.
