Nothing beats the excitement & thrill of racing in open wheel ! Yes, it's more dangerous. Contact can be catastrophic. That said, nothing compares to open wheel, side x side into & thru a corner....

Finishing our basement. Prepping '79 Scirocco for Vintage. Reassembling '89 Reynard for Vintage. Adding wizzy bits to the '94 Miata for track days & general all around fun on the street. Staying out...
Malibu Gran Prix ! Great fun !
I shopped the internet for new radiators for my Reynard. "Race" radiator fabricators were twice the money with about a 2 month turn around. I received mine from Averill in about 2 weeks and the...
Three Wide into corners ! Thx for posting !
100 LL Aviation Fuel is what many of us run in our Pintos. A little lead for the valve seats and can last up to 2 years sitting in A fuel cell or gas can and relatively inexpensive.
Perhaps an energy absorbing crash box on the gear box would help ?
Bruce is right about Jon. Always there to lend a hand. We will miss Bruce.... If my memory serves, a few years back I went out for qualifying on a very wet track with slicks as I had no rains...
We're having three race weekends this year Memorial Day, Labor day and July 1 & 2 with Trans Am. Vintage runs with us on these weekends in separate races. You may be able to run with us in SCCA &...
Great Video Production. Thx 4 posting.
Our local vintage racers run with us every race weekend up here in Brainerd. The 2.5 mile competition course is wide, smooth and with 13 distinct corners and a long straight makes for great racing....
I'm still hoping they sell a few hundred of these cars. They'd make for great fun in amateur racing in a few years. A new engine with a decent life expectancy and factory support would sure be a nice...
Check rotor run out while mounted on car ? Brake pads properly bedded in ? Any worn parts in steering box or links ?
I have four of the cheapie dollies from Menard's under my Reynard. They work really well, even on my section of carpeted garage floor. They're about $15.00 each. My old knees appreciate the...
I used to play racer at the Tampa Malibu Grand Prix. The kids that worked there were tough to beat ;)
Please don't hesitate to ask us for a helping hand if needed as we're planning the same schedule. Just look for the Red & Blue Reynard.
Wow ! High powered FST ! Same tires ? You'd definitely need traction control. But a real dragster corner to corner :)
Perhaps a new production crate motor would be desirable ?
Intriguing ! We'll be waiting for updates.
Steve.
Actually, I was trying to catch you ! It wasn't easy until your engine cradle broke & you lost your oil. Not really too hard passing you when you're parked in the grass ;) Hope you have it...
I understand both sides of the spec tire debate. For me to be truly competitive I need six sets of tires available depending on track temps & conditions. R-25-35-45-60-intermediates & full wets. I'll...
Not to stir the pot. Drivers, Owners & Sponsors all have a vested interest in the cars they race.
An example. In NASCAR the car owners have substantial input into the rules, tires, etc.
Maybe...
But then there's that whole throttle oversteer thing ;)
Outsider looking in.... F600 all the way. Why ? Shifting !
Not to take anything away from the two stroke lovers. They have their passion and they're fast.
But, the sound of high revving...
Thx in advance ;)
From what I've read an F600 is $30k new, $15k used.
I believe you can easily double that for competitive F1000's.
Outsider's view point. The class grew quickly with cheap engines & speed. Now, it appears to be morphing into a "Low Cost" alternative to FA. Forging ahead with the next great engine may leave many...
I second that. BHF will sharpen your reflexes. BIR is newly paved and really smooth. RA is all about speed.
Bonus at BIR. The owner runs an FE. If you can beat him on his home track you'll be...
