Thanks for the info Bill. Can't find any fault with that plan.
Has anyone worked the rules package and given their FM their best go in FX this year yet?

Thanks for the info Bill. Can't find any fault with that plan.
Has anyone worked the rules package and given their FM their best go in FX this year yet?
Well has anyone been out there taking full advantage of the new FM rules? What's the gap to the other potentates in the class?
Oh yeah. 6800rpm. There's not much to gain by that route.
Well, none of that is legal. Don't do it.
That weight is the practical limit. If you're a big 200+ lb. guy it would be hard to get down to that. Along with the tires, it does close the gap a bit....
New minimum weight--1320lbs.
Tires unrestricted.
That is all...
I took my first look at the 2021 GCR and Formula X now includes FormulaSpeed 2.0, FRP Zetecs, Formula FX Ireland(?), ancient Pro Super Vee(!) and Euro Formula Renault 2.0(!!). At this point they...
On to Indy in what? An FM? Barring some 11th-hour political wrangling, that car is now officially a nice garage ornament. What to do now?
I get that, but then the interpretation of whether it is a rain tire could come into question. The tires were ordered and purchased as rain tires, with no other caveats.
Further, I don't think it...
The tires used were 255-compound Goodyear slicks hand-grooved by the GY technicians. If any FM competitor went to them and demanded "a rain tire", this is exactly what they would have made for you....
Email sent.
If FM participation numbers go up, can FM be declared successfully "incubated" by next year?
And, has a hard number been established of average majors car count that will spring FM from FX?
Good questions Mr. Novak. According to the boss, who I believe made several calls to involved principals the hour he first heard of this, "They are going to do BoP, they are just waiting for us to...
My boss is working on it....
From the Majors results so far, it looks like FM has yet to directly clash with its new FX class mates. I'm hoping an FM racer can comment when that happens.
Well, if they're on their spec radial, that is usually slower than the latest club bias-ply gumball. If they're allowed to use anything then an FM truly has no prayer. Every comparable lap time sheet...
So is the USF2 spec tire rule in place, as in, Cooper radials?
Thank you Moses for the information, and cooler head.
So, this is new ground for Majors racing. Classes can break out. If that's correct, like Moses said, this all has to be defined to a "T" very,...
That seems to be a very strange plan for national classes. A formerly spec car (actually 3) now under one tent, all still adhering to their original rules? I would better understand if FM was kicked...
Honestly, I haven't heard about "probation" meaning anything as far as if classes are safe or not in a long time. Some of the doorslammmer classes popped up out of nowhere, because manufacturers...
I don't understand why USF2000 wasn't put with FC. Or how FC survived as a class. If FC is still a class, why not pump up its numbers with another very compatible car? I have my speculatuons.
I...
The Club just cut the ribbon on a shiny new long-desired open-wheel class graveyard. Next up: FE1, FC, ??
Formula Xpired.
Just got the email. Fait accompli.
I'm not happy as a longtime FM driver but I understand the changing times. I wonder if this will be the final resting place for other classes. FE1 would be a...
That would jive with a young driver's social media post of testing one with AUM this fall, with a photo of them lined up in the Blackhawk pit lane. Sounds ambitious.
Bob Kaminsky is the original owner his PFM since 2004. If you don't have his info I'll see if I can get it.
That's curious that ArmsUp bought a bunch of old PFMs. ??
Thanks for the cold water splash guys, I needed it. I might still be at the Sprints in one, and see what the thing can do....
Thanks Lotus, that's a pretty direct comparo of some real heavy hitters in all types of cars. Martin put his "test" to good use, winning the IndyCar weekend pole at 1:19.6, four 10ths clear of...
This has been touched on before, but I'll touch on it again. How close to competitiveness can a well-prepped, decently-driven Pro Mazda get to the sharp end of the typical quality Atlantic field? A...
Damn, that blows. They must've calculated that they have enough new cars sold and testing that they don't need the old cars to make a good green flag photo. Probably about...14.
As usual, a fun race to watch and I'm sure it was also fun to compete in. I was part of One Formula's lightening-quick pit stop orchestration. Congrats to the podium of Max Grau, Matthew Cutter and...
I'm trying to join the party at Indy and Road America. A couple offers are on the table, so we'll see where it goes.
JohnPaul, I wish to retract my offensive remark and say I understand your frustration better. If (big, big if) our car works out we will be THAT car in P2. While outsiders might think it's great that...
I understand in open classes there will always be issues. If be Ferguson conversion is all that can be done to advance an S2, and it is not competitive with the advance of the Stohrs, that is an...
Thanks Bill, I've definitely taken note of that car, a very clean machine. The guy in the seat ain't hurting it either. It gives us hope for our Mazda project.
Mr. Forrer, Mr. Mucha, Mr. French Sr./Jr. make that statement sound kinda asinnine.
Not even counting the obvious refute of last year's Runoffs...a check of every long track, short track in CENDIV/Great Lakes, almost every old DSR track record is faster than CSR, or the new P1...
David--thank you for clarifying some pertinent rules. My comments on the current situation were over the top. I'm not sure we've seen enough P2 cars in all their possible combinations to really...
So the Stohrs got more weight breaks AFTER they smoked the Daytona Runoffs, with only a $120,000 Radical keeping them honest!?
I guess I envisioned the ESR to be a good P2 performance target when...
Thanks guys. That is disappointing. When an ESR is not in the ballpark, I would say that things have gotten out of hand. I would've thought the Stohrs/Wests would have more handicaps. Is there any...
I've looked around a several forums, and I was wondering what the P2 competitors think of the rules between all the various cars. The flat-bottom Stohrs/Wests and high-end Radicals seem to have come...
Last year I was fortunate enough to take the overall win in the OW/SR race, after 3yrs. of trying. Jason and I managed to make 13gal. of fuel go the distance in a FM rotary. Just use all the...
Plus--in P2 trim a MSR is, I believe, allowed a "street port" 13B rotary at about 240hp.
I know the current PFM is an FA in club racing now, and many have been raced, but are there further mods that could make it more competitive? Bigger tires, wings, diffuser? Do other engines fit in...

Think anyone at Ford USA gives a flying hoot about entry-level OW? 99.9 percent of Ford's interest in motorsports begins and ends with Keselowski winning the Sprint Cup.
I think that's great, but I'm under no illusion they suddenly care about us. IndyCar just wants better photos of a bigger field barreling into turn 1.
The only question. If it's not with IndyCar or USRRC, it AIN'T. F-Lites can be declared stillborn, as predicted. There's no way F4 will make a remote ripple without major-league support. NOBODY...
Is it in Indycar's plans to have this replace USF2000 on The Ladder? If not, it has as much of a prayer as...Formula Lites.
Maybe someday they can combine this, F-lites, F-Bimmer and Shelby Can-Am with the fenders sawzalled off and call it the Salvage Series. If they can scare up a 16-car grid I might even try to find a...
Cogan took over the car after Chandler's career-ending head injury in '84 Indy practice. Something broke on the car; Chandler was motoring thru turn 3 and the car just quit turning. Chandler was VERY...
Very clean Robert.
I don't see any metallic or reflective numbers. Tell any tech supercop the same.
