IIRC Jamie Bach was running ALMS in the next year or so in the BK motorsports Mazda/Lola
You could get the widest seat you can fit in the car and then pour a bead/SFI foam liner. Ultimate in fit and comfort.
You still need something to contain the bead seat. I don't know if I've seen an SR8 but other Radicals have a big open area where the seats go. And I would go for an FIA fiberglass seat over cheap...
And find hotels at Lime Rock last minute, and change the airline tickets that are likely no change, non-refundable, and cancel hotels on the MO weekend that aren't like refundable, and screw over...
Yes. The PWC guys get a few weeks notice that they are not running at MO and are now at Lime Rock.
By canceling the MidOhio date on short notice. Yet to hear any competitor involved in that change happy about it.
i believe his handle on here is tigaman
I heard fast lap was 1:47 in practice. Qualifed with a 1:51 for the 25hr race. Not sure what FF time are on that course.
my bad...
apples and oranges. driver containment within the chassis is not the same thing as a fire suit or helmet.
Not adding simple safety stuff is incredibly lame, and saying it is cost savings is even lamer.
NASA and Elan dropped the ball on this point big time.
Brand new car and they forget to put in head surround/bolsters/containment. Bummer
I wouldn't use one of the last majors of the year as a bellweather for anything. Most people weren't going to go the month before the runoffs and risk the car getting bent. The only people I know...
I think they are still tied into the internet capabilities of the track. And many of them are not that good.
Group 7 right wings and things? Group 2 was SM.
The variety of FB cars was pretty cool. The front bulkhead on the Mayer car was really something cool to check out. Glenn in the Beauchamp-mobile had the most wiggly rear wing all weekend. Thought...
Saw on Facebook that slahor had shifter break at the start.
I think it is more about people being afraid that it will be seen as dragging the guy through the mud.
That's not the case. The guy lost control under a waving yellow and clobbered another...
So which car popped Jason the second time?
I'd bet good money that Kazis is thinking about the two-part expanding foam of old when he posted that. FWIW.
Not gonna say that the engine is legal or not but even i it wasn't that wouldn't account for seven seconds. Maybe three. As I said fb has about that same increase in power but with two other...
Wait, so people are complaining about a Vintage FF that is 7 seconds a lap off of the modern FF track record because they were 7 seconds behind the vintage one?
Comparing soft-data like that...
I'm 100% certain that Peter is not defending the legality of the motors. What he is defending is that of the 7 seconds a significant portion is the driver and I have to agree that that kid drove the...
Walked into Victor's shop on Friday in the middle of the day to see what was up. Sprawled out in one of the camping chairs on the side was the grid girl dressed and ready to go.
Definite...
Qualify the reason to me why a group of 13 total wings and things shouldn't be combined with the ITA, ITS, ITR, SSB, GT2 etc. style group has 53 cars. They earned the right to have two 25 car groups...
Butch something doesn't add up.
Starter saw Mike/Gen3 breaking away from the field and was 'confused' and threw the green just because a car was coming up the hill?. If that's the case he...
From what I've heard, there was supposed to be nothign for the Gen3 car and then green for the regular field. And people up front were told that.
Lets fundamentally change things in SCCA because people had problems with COTA. (regarding the addition of safety lights in cars)
That's exactly how this problem should be handled.
My interpretation is that once the green flag flies then the course is green but if a yellow is out it is considered a local yellow and therefore no passing.
IMO and my interpretation of the rules, If a flagstand has a yellow out in your vision it doesn't matter what the starter is doing. That part of the course is still under yellow. You pass under...
Thanks Jay,
Something like that is very tempting.
A failure of the wing?
Hell, I've seen this car go out to 'see how the car reacted' with no wings on it. It did WAY better than people expected.
Victor. Really cool stuff. I can't wait to...
Sorry for the dumb question as I haven't been able to keep up with the 500/600 rulings. Does this thing have a suspension like FC/FF or like the F500 chassis.
Great work all of you BTW. It looks...
Two people can easily make a bead seat. 3 is the best number but in reality you have 45 minutes of time from when you mix the epoxy until you get the soft set. I've never spent more than 20 minutes...
New engine, full CDS data, Later car (high 700-800) makes it a bit more desirable.
However you can find an earlier car right now for 17ish with that kind of stuff on it as well if you don't mind a...

This really made the race a bummer for me to watch.
I expected a better drive from Tucker. It sure made the case that there was a LOT of car in that win.
This.
A standalone series will poach numbers from SCCA national and that will and IMO is killing the class. 2nd to last in participation numbers as it stands right now 70 cars away from the 2.5...
To fix the bulkhead fitting issues you have to pull the cell IIRC.
You either have a slow leak on the fuel cell plate gasket or one of the bulkhead fittings on the plate. It doesn't take much to do it. Mine had a leak on one of the fittings.
I can't remember the Sport well enough to comment but I'd bet that the 545 is a bit lighter more comfortable. At least in my experience the Gforce was a bit lighter than the equivalently priced...
It's a bit heavy from what I've been told by those who have it.. The Gforce suits are great. I've sold a few of them but they were always the 545. One was to a guy switching from the 505. One of...
Do it Bob. Be awesome to see another FB local.
At least one board member asked if they would make exceptions for those of us who could be considered direct competitors. No traction on that sadly.
Not that much. If you look at the sponsorship line on the year end statements that they publish, which includes all sponsors, the total value from all sponsors was less than I would expect a single...
Yeah, I wasn't thinking it would be under 25K but I think it would do better if there was an easy progression within the same basic car. It's worked pretty well for FF/FC.
in a perfect world?
Wingless FB cars so add wings, switch motor and now you have a FB
For Van Diemen the switch from Mk9 to LD200 was midyear in 1989. I found what I thought was a great oil tank for my car and figured that out before he shipped it thankfully.
FWIW when I applied for my Pro license a couple years ago they weren't too strict on the 3 national events requirement. I don't think I submitted five regionals (as they were my most recent events)...
