I don't know which engine builder would say the BMW is frail because that couldn't be further from the truth.

We've had a BMW in the back of our WF1 for 2 years. Still the same engine too.... Gotta love German reliability. Wayne has the motor mounts and oil pan. Getting it in the car was the easy...
Jake,
I've had the same exact opinion as you for years about the shifters. My Stohr cable paddle set up has been dead reliable for 3 seasons. The problem I have now with the BMW is its a little...
Right Russ?!
Coop- I've read about some of the cool features of the Geartronics but how is the software? Has it become more user friendly?
Jerry- Are you using the Flatshifter Max? The...
After doing some research on the various shifters I wanted know what people's opinions were that have used them. Geartronics is expensive and looks like a ton of parts. Proshift looks really slick....
Mike,
There are no reliability issues. 09 models had rod bolts loosening up and transmission gear alignment problems. Our motor is a 2010 and after 4000 bike miles and another 400 in the car it...
Ivinsea - yes it does. Also built in flat shifter!
Crowe - my father and I are "the DSR guy". Unfortunately as I'm approaching 30 things like engagement ring, buying a house, etc need to take...
Not only that Stan but German reliability. The Suzuki makes crap idle oil psi. My BMW has a nice lumpy idle and 35-40 psi at 240 degrees oil temp. Shift at 14k all day too and it sounds amazing! :D
Although I do understand Wren if you mean keeping HP levels at the current spec engine 07-08 Suzuki that makes sense. 190-200 is the new standard for liter bikes. I will keep everyone posted on...
Has nothing to do with making more horsepower it just makes the engines work period. You can reflash ignition maps with a stock ecu and use a bazzaz to tune your fuel in FB. 2 days so far on the...
Yes that's idle pressure. 55-75 on track.
Stock ecu is a very stupid rule for FB. The cost argument makes no sense. The Pi system in my car cost double what the Haltech ecu system did.
Wet sump and 14k rpm's.
Having an engine that makes 25 pounds hot oil pressure is amazing.
Factory electronics are impossible. Haltech ECU and a knowledgeable tuner and you're good to go!
I saw a WF1 today powered by a BMW S1000rr. Looked pretty fast.
Another vote yes please!
Can I take the body off my WF1 because this sounds awesome!!!

I know nobody is stopping me Ty, just trying to use the similarity argument so I can surf 1 forum at work instead of 2. ;)

Please Doug?! :D Been spoiled with Apex for years but now that I have fenders I also go to the other forum...
Also some FA issues are similar to CSR and FB to DSR.

Hey Jason,
I qualified at a 48 before the engine oil filter o ring ripped expiring our engine at the national this past summer. Your right about the bus stop maybe I was thinking of the toe of...
Calm down there pal. Yeah I consider myself pretty quick. 48's around the Glen isn't slow and I didn't see anyone diving under me in the bus stop chicane dropping 6th to 2nd. It's a driving aid, an...
I don't cuz it's fiberglass! hahaha

Yes Wren I drive DSR. You see the irony in my comment about out spending the next guy too huh?!? :)
I can't afford to waste 5 grand on a shifter im saving my pennies for one of those built time...
No Brandon stay running nationals. You're our national champion for christ sakes and you earned it! This shifter is really slick but it's a pretty big driving aid. This is club racing not F1. We...
This is ridiculous. We are racing cars and not playing video games correct? Auto down blip? Whats wrong with your right foot doing the blipping? What's next ABS and traction control? Is this like...
The Stohrs are proving to be not only fast but reliable. Way to go boys! Congrats! :checkered:

Aero updates on the Stohr look awesome and perform good too!
