Swft 016 is legal for SVRA..:
A+ for speed
A+ for safety
B+ for parts supply
C for engine life...
I think the FL15 has nowhere to race except SCCA regional FS....
Dee,
Is the Crawford FL15 the same as the F3 Americas car ?
Jay....the current 2019 number from HPD is 303 hp.....apparently, HPD gets whatever they want for F3.... it’s about 10-14 mph better than a good 016 on the straight.....track dependent.
Thread hijack... where are the Aorilia powered cars that were at COTA ?
Guys,
An RFR F1000 posted a trap speed of 169 at the VIR SuperTour today....measured by SCCA, somehow....is that possible at VIR ?

Bill
Dee,
The reliability of the 2.3 has been all over the place in the last couple of years....my best advice is to call all of the engine builders, be very specific about your priorities, and ask...
Respectfully Bob,
I always said the 2200 was for a single FA entry, and I only paid 1650 for a single entry in the past.....it’s still an apple to apple comparison to the guy writing the check,...
ive never been known to take good advice...????
That is correct. 2200 for a single FA entry, and 899 for FB entry.....same track sessions and races...
Jerry....what is the actual entry fee ?
Bob,
Are you saying that FA and FB entry fees will be different, even though you have placed them in the same run group, on track at the same time ?
how about FA1 and FA2 ?
Stan, ....do you just not believe the many posters that have pointed out that running in the same group is way different than competing in the same group for the same $4 trophy ?..really ?
Racing...
NOT A PHYSICS MAJOR ...
FA=1450 lb
FB = 1000lb
ke = .5MVsq
KE = translational kinetic energy
t7 collision at Road Atl @ 60 mph
t1 collision @ Road Atl @ 120 mph
KE disparity between FA/FB...
thanks Jay....my old school analog brain says, “ two wrongs dont make a right “.... besides, I believe there is a difference in 2 closed wheel cars coming together vs 2 open wheel cars coming...
Fastrack raises the 016 weight to 1450#. Many of the FB posters are cocerned with the safety of competing with the mass of a 1420# car... how do you feel about a 1450# 016, effective Feb 1st......
I think the Mazda Rode to Indy rules out the former O16 home, but who knows about next year with Mazda bailing out !
Ok, the last paragraph got my attention in this food fight......how is FA performances being trimmed back ? ...news to me, and many others.....and yes, I do have a dog in this fight .
regards,
Bill
Mike,
I’m not certain that my fat 016, will beat a built motor FB at RA at the 2020 Runoffs....
Cant find anything on MyLaps or Race-Monitor....
With respect , Jay.....I’m amazed at several tech rulings/ non-rulings during this premiere SCCA event
cheers,
Bill
attracting some crossover might be helpful......add the PFM18 to FA
add USF2000 somewhere....FC ?
I don’t think the FB guys will ever agree to a slowdown
we gotta do somethin’
Bill
. I personally chose the 016 over 014 and FB for safety.....you can pour a BIG seat, etc.....Adding side Kevlar, proper attenuator would help FB considerably....can the nose protection also be...
Hey Reid,
I don’t think the biggest threat is from an 016 spearing a FF, FB, etc, but I get your point.....seems to me that mixing P cars with open wheel has caused the majority of the...
Hey Gary,
How would a a busa powered Phoenix @1100lb compare with your current car.....A little more torque might be just the ticket....seems like a potential Beast .

Bill

Jay,
I’ll probably be burned at the stake for this , but add New Pro Mazda, F3 America’s, Busa powered FB, DSR spec 1000cc FB, modern F3, Ralt RT4 with BDG, etc.......minor spec line tweets...
Hi guys,
Anyone willing to share the cost of the PFM 18, ready to go....The only price I’ve seen is 61.8k for a roller
I don’t know if that includes the campers and/or the data system
...
Thanks, Bob !
Hi Guys,
I’m interested in an arrive and drive PFM rental for the 28-29 double Sarrc at Road Atlanta......also , possibly for the 28-29 April FRP event at Road Atlanta.
Regards,
Bill...
1 FB at the sprints ??? What happened ???
Uh oh, for me and Charlie Warner...??
An all-in new 016 is in the 200 k range ...
Hey Your Frogness,
It would have to be sealed, or you end up with mega dollar development motors like the Mazda in the Swift 016..,,
Sorry Stan...I actually thought both approaches were being discussed......I'm out.
OK Gary, put a built 'Busa in it with 10's And 12's front and rear, and we'll talk...lol !
Disclaimer : I am not currently an owner, builder, or driver, BUT:
I completely destroyed my mega dollar short stroke Cosworth FA engine by hitting the rev limiter one too many times.....I was...
The link for F4 is for a Tatuus/Cosworth.......not a Mygale.....wassup ???
Hey Frank.....listen to Mike....the end.
Crickets ? Bueler, Bueler ???
Hey guys.......I'm a bit surprised on the lack of buzz for the 2015 Firman. All credit to JR, but it's still curious. Are there no longer any authorized dealers in the good ole US of A ???
...
:thumbsup::tire::revs::greenflag::trophy:;)
Stan & Rennie,
Best wishes to Dauntless on the acquisition,,,,,,,NOW, where's the new FA ??????
Enquiring mind,
Bill
Lawrence,
Do you know how the rev limiter actually functions without causing engine damage? Having destroyed an FA motor from operating on the Motec actuated limiter, I believe that is a real...
Hey Mirl,
Just curious.....can the 016 legally run the Shiftec system in FA ? Unlike the 014, Rt41, etc, I thought it had to comply with the very strict line spec for the oem 016.....except...
TC,
IMHO they were a massive fail in FA....the SIR for the 016 was around 4k, and some folks MAY have found a way to defeat the leak/ stop engine test with the dreaded ECU programming.....I...
I've heard the Kawis are difficult to shift, even with the Geartronics......any feedback from anyone ? And, Glenn, glad you are ok,...sorry about your ride .

Bill
03-04 rings a bell......track drives differently, but times are about the same....go figure....it's also a wee bit longer now......I always thought it was a good, safe place to test.

Bill
