Engine/ECU Rule Interpretation.
Quote:
9.1.1 H4 C.
The stock ECU shall be used. The ECU fuel map may be changed.
Devices that modify inputs to the ECU (e.g., Power Commander)
may be used. Stand-alone after market ECUs are not permitted.
Please tell me if this is legal based on the above rule.
1. I pick up an engine from a 1000cc motorcycle, but I do not take all the electronics with it.
All I take is: engine, harness, ecu, and whatever is required to run it.
2. I leave some of the electronics, sensors in the the motorcycle.
a. some of the sensors may be: traction control, abs.
3. I flash the ECU (fuel map).
4. I modify the inputs to the ECU using a device (my own build device, no Power Commander).
Am I still in FB?
P.S. I know this has been talked about before, but time has passed by since then and I want to know if something is up in the air that would render my work worthless.
