SCCA Roll bar number.
I’ve done a few searches here about the SCCA number stamp on the main roll hoop. I’m wondering if these numbers could ever be traced back to a previous owner or a log book? I have an Alexis MK15 project. There is an Arch Motors stamp in the usual place and the roll hoop has 022 314 stamped into it. Any help would be much appreciated!

022 is the region that did the initial inspection & issued the log book.
314 means it was the 314th logbook that they issued.
022 is New England Region
Regional Executive – Sterling Cole
PO Box 1191, Salem, NH 03079
617-851-7713
That would be a good start and he could point you in the right direction.

Region numbers were changed sometime after log books were required.

Yup - I tried the same with the "club historian" Pete Hylton a long while back for my 72 FSV. No help there.

On my Lotus I found the number which was out on the west coast 96. I sent them a message and they told me it was a Lotus 61 and who owned it when stamped. Through the internet I was able to get his phone number and called. He told me all about the car and who he bought it off. I was able to trace it back and forward for 10 owners. I have a gap between 76 and 82 but all the rest. It was interesting to find alll the changes it went through and why. All thanks to contacting the SCCA.

Thanks Graham.
I hope I can track down some history for my Alexis. It’s a true basket case but worth saving I think.
