This from February Racecar Engineering magazine's "News In Brief" section:
"The name of Hawke Racing Cars is to return to the track after a 24-year absence. The former Formula Ford constructor is to produce a chassis for The Challenge Initiative, a new budget spec single-seater championship. The car is to be designed by Apollo Racing Design, the company set up by a group of former Reynard employees. Reynard had originally been in line to produce the cars for the series, but the company folded last year. The series is due to start in July."
For those unfamiliar, Racecar Engineering is a British publication.

Does this mean that Hawke chassis will replace the space shuttle for future space flights?
(well if we can argue that each and every other spec car is going to doom ff and fc...)

On a sad note-
Barry Playle recently passed away. He purchased the rights for the Hawke name some
years ago. Most recently a chasis was made up for competition in the formula renault series.
Barry raced Hawke cars in the 70's. See the Hawke site under vintagegarage.com formore details.
