I think it bolts to the motor mount bosses and holds the starter. Just like the DB-1 Swift
Yes, my mistake. It doesn't bolt to the head but the side of the block. Thanks! No starter we have will work with it though... And it mounts to the LH side of the block and puts the starter just below the head. Hmm.
Could be a Swift part that got mixed in with your BD parts.
Swift part is different in that it sits the starter lower on the block. This one is more toward the top of the block.
